Extended Folded Menus from Cheap as Prints
Extended folded menus offer a versatile and practical solution for restaurants and eateries looking to showcase an extensive array of dishes. With the ability to incorporate 6pp or 8pp panels, these menus provide ample space to accommodate a wide range of culinary offerings. By utilising these extended folds, businesses can effectively organise their menu items without compromising the overall design aesthetic.
One of the key advantages of extended folded menus is their flexibility in formatting options. The letter fold, also known as a roll-fold, allows the menu to be folded in a series of parallel folds, similar to rolling up a paper scroll. This type of fold is ideal for menus that require a sequential presentation of dishes or when there is a need to highlight different sections of the menu. On the other hand, the z-fold, as the name suggests, creates a zigzag pattern when folded, providing a visually appealing and organised layout. This fold is particularly useful when there is a desire to divide the menu into distinct sections or when the menu needs to be viewed in a specific order.
In conclusion, extended folded menus are an excellent choice for restaurants seeking to showcase a vast selection of dishes. With the flexibility of 6pp or 8pp panels and various folding options like the letter fold or z-fold, these menus provide ample room for creativity in design while effectively organising menu items.

FAQ's
What file format should I use when designing an extended folded menu?
To achieve the best printing results, it is recommended to use high-resolution PDF files that include embedded fonts. Although JPEG, PNG, or TIFF formats are also acceptable, PDF is generally the preferred option for professional printing purposes.
What are the bleed and margin requirements when designing extended folded menus?
When designing extended folded menus, it’s recommended to include a bleed of around 3mm to 5mm on all sides to ensure the design extends beyond the final trim size. Additionally, maintaining a margin of at least 5mm inside the trim lines helps prevent cutting issues and contributes to a polished and professional layout.
Should I use CMYK or RGB colour mode when designing extended folded menus?
For professional printing, it’s crucial to use the CMYK colour mode, as this is the colour model used in the printing process.
What is the required resolution for images when designing extended folded menus?
Images should be high resolution, preferably 300 dots per inch (DPI) to ensure crisp and clear prints. Low-resolution images may appear pixelated or blurry when printed.
Can I include borders when designing extended folded menus?
While borders can be added for aesthetic purposes, it’s advisable to keep them at least 5mm (0.2 inches) inside the trim edge to account for potential variations in the cutting process.
What is the best font size for clear readability when designing extended folded menus?
The best font size for clear readability on extended folded menus typically ranges between 10 to 12 points, ensuring text is legible without sacrificing design aesthetics. Additionally, using a clean and easily readable font style contributes to optimal visibility and comprehension.
What paper stock is best for extended folded menus?
That depends on your requirements and budget. However, our most popular paper stock for extended folded menus is 170gsm silk stock.
Why are extended folded menus printed on thicker material crease folded?
When folding thicker materials like 250gsm or heavier paper, there’s a chance of occasional cracking on the flap’s edge fibers. To address this, crease-folding is applied to ensure a smoother folding process and prevent damage to the fibers.
What will extended folded menus printed on uncoated paper look and feel like?
Extended folded menus printed on uncoated paper will have a more natural and tactile appearance, with a slightly rough texture. They will offer a matt finish and a less vibrant colour reproduction compared to coated paper, resulting in a more subdued and organic aesthetic.
What will extended folded menus printed on gloss paper look and feel like?
Extended folded menus printed on gloss paper will have a shiny and smooth surface that enhances colour vibrancy and sharpness, resulting in a more vibrant and visually striking appearance. The glossy finish provides a sleek and professional feel to the touch, offering a high-quality and polished presentation.
What will extended folded menus printed on silk paper look and feel like?
Extended folded menus printed on silk paper will have a silky smooth texture and a semi-gloss finish, offering a balance between the matt and gloss options. This gives them a sophisticated and elegant appearance while maintaining a subtle sheen, providing a pleasing tactile experience.
