Business Card Printing

Our business cards are printed using the CMYK colour process. RGB and Pantone colours will be converted to CMYK, which may cause slight differences between the colours displayed on your screen and the printed result.

GSM stands for Grams per Square Meter, which measures the weight and thickness of paper. For business cards, it shows how thick and sturdy the card is.

For a standard 85mm × 55mm business card, the artwork should measure 91mm × 61mm once 3mm bleed has been added to every edge.

Supply artwork at 300dpi in CMYK colour mode. Include 3mm bleed and keep important text, logos and contact details at least 4mm inside the finished edge.

Bleed is the extra background or image extending beyond the cut line. It prevents unwanted white edges if there is slight movement during trimming.

The safety margin is the area inside the cut line where important content should be positioned. Keeping text and logos at least 4mm from the edge reduces the risk of them being trimmed too closely.

A print-ready PDF is recommended because it preserves your layout, fonts and image positioning. High-resolution JPG and PNG files are also accepted.

Fonts should be outlined or fully embedded in your PDF. This prevents missing fonts or unexpected changes when your artwork is processed for printing.

Supply your main print-ready artwork plus a separate PDF showing the areas requiring Spot UV in solid black. Only the black elements on this file will receive the raised gloss finish.

Choose a PDF proof when you want to check the layout before printing. Without a proof, suitable artwork will go directly into production, while requesting one may extend the turnaround time.

Economy cards use 350gsm silk or uncoated stock and are ideal for affordable everyday use. Laminated cards use thicker 450gsm silk stock with added protection and a more premium finish.

Matt has a smooth, non-reflective finish; gloss creates brighter colours and a shiny surface; soft-touch has a luxurious, velvety feel. All three help protect the card from moisture, scratches and everyday wear.

Raised Spot UV applies a thick, glossy coating to selected areas such as your logo, text or pattern. This creates a noticeable raised texture that makes important design elements stand out.

Lamination covers the entire card, while Spot UV highlights selected areas with a glossy raised effect. Spot UV is best when you want your logo or key design details to attract attention.

Silk stock has a smooth surface with a subtle sheen that helps colours and images appear sharper. Uncoated stock has a natural paper texture and is better for writing, stamping or a softer, understated design.
