FAQ's

  • What does "350gsm" mean?

“350gsm” refers to the weight and thickness of the paper stock used for the business cards. GSM stands for grams per square meter, indicating the weight of the paper. In this case, 350gsm means the paper weighs 350 grams per square meter.

  • How durable are 350gsm economy business cards?

350gsm paper stock provides a good balance between durability and affordability. It is thicker and sturdier than lighter-weight options, making it less prone to bending or tearing. However, it may not be as durable as heavier materials like the 450gsm stock.

  • What kind of designs are better suited to silk and uncoated paper?

Silk paper is better suited for designs requiring a smooth and luxurious finish with moderate ink absorption, ideal for vibrant colours and detailed imagery. Uncoated paper works well for designs with a natural, textured look, enhancing tactile appeal and offering a softer, more organic feel for minimalist or rustic aesthetics.

  • Can silk stock be written on with a pen?

Yes, silk stock can generally be written on with a pen, although the smooth coating may affect ink absorption and drying time compared to uncoated stock. Testing with the specific pen and ink type is advisable for optimal results.

Customer Reviews

Material

Silk

Silk paper strikes a balance between a glossy and matt finish, offering a unique balance. It possesses a subtle sheen that imparts a vibrant and sharp look to prints, yet it retains a softer quality compared to a gloss finish. Renowned for its versatility, this paper stock is also fully compatible with ballpoint pens, making it a popular choice for any project.

  • Balance of a gloss and matt finish
  • Subtle sheen for vibrant and sharp prints
  • Retains softer quality than glossy paper
  • Compatible with ballpoint pens
Uncoated

Uncoated paper lacks a glossy sheen and mirrors the texture of standard office printing paper. While the texture is rougher than coated stocks, it offers a softer aesthetic to designs featuring images and enhances text legibility. This type of paper is also more porous, allowing for quick ink absorption, resulting in a clean, smudge-free finish.

  • Lacks glossy sheen, texture is rougher than coated stocks
  • Offers softer aesthetic for designs with images
  • Enhances text legibility
  • Porous surface for quick ink absorption
  • Ideal for writing on or embossing with stamps

Corners

Square Corner

Square corners lend themselves well to minimalist designs, offering a sleek and polished aesthetic that exudes professionalism. This finish is particularly suitable for products where a clean and sharp appearance is desired, elevating the overall visual appeal of the printed material.

  • Suitable for minimalist design themes
  • Ideal for products desiring a clean, sharp appearance
Rounded Corners

Round corner finishing involves trimming the sharp corners of printed materials to create a smooth, curved edge. By softening the edges, it enhances durability, making the print less prone to damage and wear. This finishing technique compliments modern and minimalist designs by adding a touch of sophistication.

  • Creates smooth curved edges
  • Enhances durability, reducing damage and wear
  • Compliments modern and creative designs

Lamination

No Lamination

Printed graphics without lamination will retain its original texture, which can create a unique aesthetic appeal. However, the print will be more susceptible to wear and tear, as it will have no protective layer provided by lamination. Over time, the lack of lamination may result in fading, smudging and decreased durability. While the absence of lamination allows for a distinct tactile experience with an initial cost saving, it’s essential to consider the trade-off in terms of longevity and resilience.

  • Without lamination the print retains its original texture and cheaper to buy
  • Lamination provides a protective layer that enhances durability
  • The various lamination films can enhance the look and feel of the print
Matt Lamination

Matt lamination provides a non-reflective finish with zero shine. It adds a smooth texture to the surface while preserving the integrity of the print without any colour loss. This process enhances both the tactile and visual appeal of the printed material, offering a sophisticated and durable result.

  • Offers a soft non-reflective finish to printed materials without any shine
  • Adds a smooth texture while maintaining print integrity without loss of colour
  • Enhances tactile and aesthetic appeal of the printed material
  • Provides excellent durability against moisture, scratches and fading

Gloss lamination creates a high shine to printed materials, enhancing its visual appeal and making colours more intense and vibrant, particularly in well-lit areas. Additionally, the protective gloss lamination film provides excellent durability and is easy to wipe clean, ensuring a long-lasting and pristine appearance.

  • Adds a shiny finish to printed materials, making it visually appealing
  • Intensifies and enhances colours and images, especially in well-lit areas
  • Offers excellent protection against moisture, scratches and fading
  • Easy to wipe clean, ensuring a pristine appearance

Soft-touch lamination elevates printed materials by imparting a luxurious, velvety smooth feel that enhances both the tactile and visual experience. With a matt-like finish devoid of any shine, it softens the visual elements while offering a refined touch, adding a premium element to the print. This technique enriches the sensory engagement, making it particularly appealing for products where texture and presentation are paramount.

  • Enhances printed materials with a luxurious, velvety smooth feel
  • Provides a matt-like finish without shine, softening visual elements
  • Ideal for products where texture and sensory engagement are important
  • Offers excellent protection against moisture, scratches and fading
