Stapled & Perfect Bound Booklets from Cheap as Prints
Stapled booklets are also referred to as saddle-stitched booklets. The production process involves folding, collating and stitching up the fold line with metal staples. Stapled booklets are often the number one choice for most publications. This is due to two key factors, quicker turnaround times and lower cost of production.
Perfect bound booklets offer a sturdier and premium alternative to stapled booklets. The process involves gluing pages down to the cover at the spine. Once the glue has dried, the remaining three sides are cut to size, resulting in ‘perfect’ edges. Paperback books are a great example of perfect bound booklets with thicker inner pages and outer cover lamination.

What is the purpose of stapled booklets?
Stapled booklets offer one of the most cost-effective solutions for multi-page brochures. Publications can include magazines, newsletters, theatre programmes, guides, services reports and so on! The possibilities are endless!
What is the purpose of perfect bound booklets?
Perfect bound booklets offer a luxurious way to collate and market your publications. The thicker outer cover and laminated finish can add further interest for your products and services. Suitable for printing premium product catalogues, handbooks, prospectuses and so on.
Please note to ensure there are enough pages to glue to the spine, the minimum number of printed pages would have to be 40pp.
How are your booklets printed?
We use a combination and digital and offset printing techniques to offer the best compromise of speed and affordability.
What size booklets do you recommend for my requirements?
- A6 size booklets measure 105 x 148mm and are ideal for mini handouts and prospectuses.
- DL size booklets measure 99 x 210mm and are great for popping in an envelope for cost-effective mailing campaigns.
- A5 size booklets measure 210 x 297mm and are ideal as event handouts or compact directories.
- A4 size booklets measure 210 x 297mm and are suitable as magazines, newsletters and catalogues.
- 148mm square booklets are unique and suitable as quirky sales brochures
- 210mm square booklets are great for use as menus or funky sales brochures.
What does ‘pp’ mean?
PP refers to the printable pages.
What paper option is best for printing my booklets?
We offer three paper stock options for our stapled and perfect bound booklets. This includes silk, uncoated and gloss stock.
- Silk paper is coated, is smooth to touch and has a slight sheen. The surface is also fully writable with a ballpoint pen.
- Uncoated stock has a rougher texture and absorbs ink much better. The surface is also completely smudge-free meaning it can be written or stamped on.
- Gloss stock has high shine with a slippery smooth coating. Ideal for high contrast design themes.
What lamination option is best for my perfect bound booklets?
Matt laminated is ideal for softer-themed designs. The laminated film removes any natural shine to give the final product a smooth and subtle finish. Ideal where reflective light may cause difficulty to see the design. Additionally, the matt laminated finish creates muted colours as it produces a lower contrast on darker shades.
Gloss laminated is best suited for colourful designs. The lamination film produces a shiny appearance similar to what is seen on the cover of a magazine or catalogue. As natural light bounces of the gloss laminated surface, colours appear brighter and more reflective.
